This page is designed to help families quickly connect with information, services, clinics, classes, and resources that support pregnancy, parenting, and early childhood development. Whether you’re expecting a baby or caring for a young child, you’ll find helpful links and information to guide you to the resources you need.
Healthy pregnancy
- Learn about having a healthy pregnancy.
- Sign up for online prenatal classes and an online prenatal breastfeeding information session.
- Looking for more support during pregnancy? See if one of our home-visiting programs is right for you.
Feeding and nurturing your baby
- Learn about feeding your baby, including how to know if your baby is feeding well.
- For additional feeding support, connect with us for an infant feeding consultation.
- Sign up for an online prenatal breastfeeding information session to feel more prepared and get off to a smooth start.

Parent mental health

Caring for your baby

- If you are looking for more support after your baby is born, and as your child grows, see if our Healthy Babies Healthy Children home-visiting program is right for you.
Routine well-baby and toddler care
- Learn about caring for your baby’s or toddlers’ teeth.
- Book your baby’s hearing screening through KidsInclusive.
- Learn about routine immunizations for your baby or toddler.
- Access developmental screening for your child:
- Hastings and Prince Edward Counties
- Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox and Addington Counties
- Leeds, Grenville and Lanark Counties, call 1-800-660-5853, extension 2467 to speak with a public health nurse.
- If you have concerns about your child’s development, speak to your health-care provider, or access a SmartStart Hub for help navigating services:
- If you have concerns about your child’s speech and language development (birth to school entry), learn about supports available on our Language Express website.
- Southeast Public Health does not offer well-baby or well-child checkups. If you do not have a health-care provider, register with the government of Ontario.
If you have concerns or questions about your baby’s health or your health, please contact your health-care provider or Health 811 (online chat or dial 811 or TTY 1-866-797-0007) to speak to a registered nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
If you do not have a health-care provider, contact a walk-in clinic or Telemed clinic.
For medical emergencies, call 911 or go to your local emergency department.
